We are proud to announce the cast of the initial episodes of the new web series, The Mothers. Familiar ReKon faces will include Sascha Alexander (Dating Daisy) and Jenica Bergere (Ending Up).
They will join Julie McNiven, who has crossed paths with ReKoners on the short Office Politics (Assistant Directed by Jon Michael Kondrath) and on the feature Caterpillar’s Kimono (Co-Produced by Lesley Lopez).
The episodes will also feature actors Yael Berkovich, Elaine Mani Lee and Mary Faber.
The show is scheduled to go into production in late January and release in spring 2017.
The Mothers is a web series that is set in an extra vegan, probiotic, and co-dependently attached parenting version of the West Side of Los Angeles. Its heroines are the frustrated, imperfect and hilarious mothers who are trying to rise above the pressure and expectations that women put upon others and themselves these days and who invariably fall flat every time.
Executive producer Rebecca Mooney created and wrote the series. ReKoner Lesley Lopez is producing. The first episodes are slated to be directed by Sarah Gurfield and shot by director of photography Amanda Treyz (Eat with Me).
