Heidi Kim was born and raised in Los Angeles. While she has always been intrigued by film and entertainment, her interest peaked in her senior year of high school when she took a script-writing class. Through this class, she was able to write a full-length script, learn the editing tools of Mac based software, and attend a small lecture with the script-writer of the motion picture The Mummy.
With an open mind, she traveled to Carlisle, Pennsylvania where she attended Dickinson College and graduated with a B.A. in American Studies. Through her major, she was able to combine both her passion for entertainment and for diversity/inclusivity. She wrote and researched her senior thesis on the modern conversation of Asian representation within the film industry, highlighting the significance of the films Crazy Rich Asians, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, and Searching.
In her free time, she loves to sing, draw, work out, and do photography and videography – she has even directed, shot, and edited a music video for a friend.
In the past, Heidi has interned as a Production and Exhibitions Intern for a non-profit arts organization called Visual Communications, and as a Talent and Production Intern at a talent management company called Cohesive Entertainment Group. Heidi hopes to gain as much knowledge about the ins-and-outs of the industry, make the most of her time at Rekon Productions, and create long-lasting relationships.
