In 2014, Fiona packed up her childhood bedroom in Philadelphia and headed out to the University of Southern California. Dead set on becoming a lawyer, she majored in Philosophy, Politics, and Law and minored in Forensics and Criminality. Although she fell in love with political philosophy and enjoys studying it, it didn’t take long for her to realize that law school is most definitely not for her. After taking a few film studies classes, Fiona picked up a minor in Cinematic Arts and never looked back. Now a first semester senior, Fiona has had the opportunity to work on many student films in a diverse variety of capacities, including boom operator, make up artist, and 1st AD. Most recently, Fiona directed, produced, and edited a short documentary, which is currently in the festival submission process. She loves being on set and the process of working together in a group to create.
On campus, Fiona volunteers as a peer representative for USC’s Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention and Services center, spreading awareness to the campus community about gender-based violence resources on campus, and is a member of Delta Kappa Alpha, a national professional cinematic arts fraternity, where she is the chapter secretary.
For Fiona, the most exciting thing about interning for ReKon is the variety of work they’re involved in. She can’t wait to deepen her knowledge of the industry and creative process and get hands on industry experience.
