In the world of supernatural thrillers, a new contender has emerged, promising to deliver chills, suspense, and a story that lingers long after the credits roll. The Jessica Cabin, the latest feature released by Freestyle Digital Media and produced in association with ReKon Productions, has officially been released worldwide on a variety of streaming platforms available for rent or purchase. The Jessica Cabin captivates audiences with its unique blend of horror and comedic, heartfelt storytelling.
The Jessica Cabin follows the story of love-torn young man who decides to spend a retreat in a remote cabin inhabited by the spirits of Nicky and his boyfriend Preston. Nicky and Preston were previous guests of the Jessica Cabin, which had previously been inhabited by two other restless spirits. While dealing with their own complex emotions, the history of the cabin and its original occupant is revealed.
Behind the scenes, The Jessica Cabin is guided by the vision of writer / director Daniel Montgomery. The direction, cinematography, and sound design work in harmony to create an atmosphere of palpable tension and eerie beauty. The film is grounded by its performances from the talented ensemble cast, including Montgomery as Jackson, Riley Rose Critchlow (“Taylor”), Chase Williamson (“Nicky”) and Will Tranfo (“Preston”).
In an interview with The Pride LA Montgomery shared his inspiration for the film: “I wanted to explore something I’d never seen portrayed onscreen, namely, gay ghosts. The Jessica Cabin. is about the universal desire to find authentic and intimate connection, told through a decidedly queer lens. The drama doesn’t come from the horror of being queer; rather, it’s just an aspect of the characters’ lives. Or, in this case, after-lives.”
Freestyle Digital Media acquired The Jessica Cabin in a deal negotiated by ReKon Productions’ Lisha Yakub Sevanian. The film is available to rent or buy on most major steaming platforms, including Prime Video, AppleTV, and Vudu. For a full list of sites to watch “The Jessica Cabin” follow this link.
