SPARK's LA Premier at Dances With Films

Jon Kondrath

June 25, 2024

Los Angeles, CA - June 25, 2024 – The highly anticipated feature film Spark had its LA premiere at the 28th Annual Dances with Films Festival, June 24th, at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. The event was attended by an enthusiastic crowd, including the film's cast, director, and producers, who received an overwhelmingly positive response from the audience.

Spark is a powerful drama that delves into the complexities of human relationships and personal growth. Directed by the visionary Nicholas Giuricich, the film weaves a compelling narrative that explores themes of resilience and redemption using a unique time loop twist.

The screening was a resounding success, with audience members captivated by the film’s gripping storyline, outstanding performances, and exquisite cinematography. The cast, including Theo Germaine and Vico Ortiz, delivered exceptional performances that brought depth and authenticity to their characters.

Director Giuricich was joined by cast, including Germaine and Ortiz, his brother and producer Jackson Giuricich, Executive Producer from ReKon Lisha Yakub Sevanian, Producer from ReKon Lesley Lopez, and casting director Kristi Lugo prior to the screening on the red carpet.

Following the screening, a Q&A session was held, where the cast and crew discussed their experiences during the making of the film. Director Nicholas Giuricich shared personal insights, stating that his spark for making Spark was to tell a story about relationships while both Germaine and Ortiz admitted to discussions of attachment theories in initial conversations about their roles. Seeped with themes of intimacy, attachment, and time itself, the film practically demands its audience reflect on love and connection.

Spark had its world premiere at Inside Out, 2SLGBTQ+ Film Festival on May 24th at the TIFF Lighthouse theater in Toronto, Canada. Press has positively heralded the film as “riveting”, “refreshing”, and “a Queer Memento”. With its powerful narrative and compelling performances, it promises to leave a lasting impact on audiences worldwide.
