In Quarter 1 of 2017, John Schrad was part of the producer team for the short film Aileron, written and directed by A.J. Wedding. The short film will be screening at the end of August at the Action on Film Festival in Las Vegas. Aileron also screened at the LA Shorts Festival on August 4. The short has garnered press attention on Broadway World and Film Snobbery.
At the end of Quarter 2, Entertainment Weekly took a first look at the short film Hajji, with John Schrad producing for ReKon. Hajjii, written and directed by R.H. Norman, is an inspired-by-true-events short film which explores the cycle of violence caused by modern warfare in the Middle East. The short stars Ross Maquand of The Walking Dead fame.
Kristina Kondrath ventured to Reedley, CA to produce the short film Jocelyn, starring, written, and directed by Jill Awbrey. The film follows a small town woman, Jocelyn, and a man, Adam, as they each try to cope with the aftermath of having lost a child in a school shooting. Jocelyn is currently completing post and submitting to festivals.
Over the weekend of July 29, ReKon, with Jon Kondrath as producer, helped friends and fellow filmmmakers Ellen Wroe and Nick Wenger create their short film The Kid. The short film shot in downtown Los Angeles, in a back alley, and featured amazing fight sequences.
At the end of June, Jon Kondrath and Lesley Lopez attended the LA Film Festival screening of Mud, a short film that used an office at ReKon HQ for two months to film the stop motion clay-mation.
Variety posted a film review of the psychological thriller Tilt. produced by ReKoner Kristina Kondrath. The feature film screened at the Tribeca Film Festival.
