Layan did her first year of college at Middlesex University in London before transferring to Ithaca College in Spring 2012. She graduates in May 2014 with a BA in Television Production.
While at Ithaca College, she worked at Park Productions, a production company at Ithaca College, as the head of marketing and distribution, an editor, and a production manager. She also worked on three productions (Newswatch 16, Down with ASP, and Stop Me If You’ve Heard This One) that aired on Ithaca College’s TV station.
Layan wanted to get into the entertainment industry because she was tired of seeing her culture be so misrepresented in the media and has always been fascinated by how films and TV shows are made; the behind-the-scenes were as or more fascinating to her than the actual film or TV show. In January, she moved to LA for her last semester and is doing the Ithaca College Los Angeles Program. She is currently interning at ReKon Productions as well as WebCam Riot, Immortal Cinema International, and is working for a writer/director.
