"A Moment for Love" to Open the San Francisco Queer Film Festival and Selected for the Tarzana Film Festival

Jon Kondrath

August 9, 2024

The feature film A Moment for Love is set to make its highly anticipated debut as the opening night film at the San Francisco Queer Film Festival on Friday, August 23. The film has also been honored as an official selection for the Tarzana International Film Festival, with a screening scheduled for Sunday, August 25 preceded by a red carpet.

A Moment For Love, starring Adam Huss (Power),Bobby Love and Bonnie Morgan (Rings, Minority Report), is a fantasy rom-com feature film.  Trevor (Huss), a singer songwriter haunted by a terrible secret, meets out- and- proud Asian fashion designer Bobby Love and becomes part of his magical chosen family. As their friendship grows and Trevor interacts with the Wonderland that is Bobby’s world, Trevor learns how to let go of the ghosts who haunt him, and best of all, surrenders to love.

Directed by the Matarrese Bros. (Joe and Phill), the movie isa semi-autobiographical film of fantasy couture designer Bobby Love, and contains actual footage from Bobby’s outrageously wild runway shows.  In their feature directorial debut, the directors wanted to create an over-the-top fantasy ride and showcase a love story that includes extravagant costumes and sets, including a magical hilltop castle where much of the story unfolds.

The film was produced by Jon Michael Kondrath and Kristina Kondrath for ReKon Productions

A Moment for Love will open the San Francisco Queer Film Festival, screening at Opera Plaza Landmark Theatre at 6pm on August 23.  Following its premiere in San Francisco, A Moment for Love will be showcased at the Tarzana Film Festival screening at11am on August 25, with a red carpet starting at 10am.

The San Francisco Queer Film Festival is renowned for its commitment to showcasing films that push boundaries and elevate queer voices, making A Moment for Love a fitting choice for the prestigious opening night slot. The Tarzana Film Festival, known for celebrating independent cinema, offers another platform for the film to connect with diverse audiences.

Tickets for both screenings are now available for purchase through the respective festival websites (SFQFF, Tarzana). For more information about A Moment for Love, including cast interviews and behind-the-scenes content, please visit www.amomentforlovemovie.com.
