In a significant milestone for ReKon Productions, the company was honored as a Certified Innovator-level Green Business in Culver City and across California. This recognition celebrates ReKon Productions’ commitment to sustainability and innovative practices in the film and production industry.
The certification, awarded during a special event on September 12, 2023, acknowledges businesses that go above and beyond in their efforts to reduce environmental impact, conserve resources, and implement sustainable practices. Twelve business were recognized at the fifth annual awards event attended by Culver City Mayor Albert Vera. ReKon Productions has demonstrated leadership in integrating green practices into its day-to-day operations, making it a standout in the community and across production entities.
ReKon Productions has long been dedicated to minimizing its environmental footprint. The company has implemented a range of green initiatives, from using energy-efficient equipment and renewable energy sources to reducing waste and promoting recycling on set. Their approach not only aligns with the broader goals of environmental stewardship but also sets a standard for others in the industry to follow.
“We’re incredibly proud to receive this recognition,” said Jon Kondrath, CEO of ReKon Productions. “Sustainability is at the core of our business model, in our office at on set. We were first certified as a Green Business in 2019 and aimed to go above and beyond for the renewal to achieve Innovator status. We hope to inspire other companies in the industry to adopt similar practices.”
The event, hosted by Culver City’s Green Business Program in partnership with the California Green Business Network, brought together leaders from various sectors who have shown exceptional commitment to environmental responsibility. ReKon Productions was among the seven select businesses recognized at the Innovator tier for their forward-thinking approaches to sustainability.
During the event, attendees had the opportunity to learn more about the specific initiatives that earned ReKon Productions its certification. From eco-friendly production techniques to their engagement with local sustainability efforts. CEO Jon Kondrath and COO Lesley Lopez were in attendance at the event to accept the award and certificate.
